Old man/Typewriter/Spying cont.

The feud between scanner and I continues so more photographs of my progress.

I'm playing around with ways of showing the narrative, using the typewritten font to play on the themes and catch the time the story is set. Instead of having a normal "The man sits at his desk looking at the woman blah blah boring" sub text, i'm going for showing emotions and objects to let the illustrations tell the story. Also means you can fill in the gaps and get more connected with the characters.
Aren't I just so much fun.

I got sick of white clean paper with it's mockingly straight edges. So ripping up scrap brown paper just made a refreshing change.

  1. Hello gorgeous! I have to say, I looked at the photos before I read your blurb, and I got such a strong connection to the illsutrations from the narrative. I think the perspective of the narrative reflects the haunting nature of this 'outside stalker' idea. It lets us intrude on the images and create our own subtext, you put us in the place of the stalker! It definitely enages you more as a reader. The contrast of the white typewrighting sits nicely on the paper, and it adds a nice quality of texture to the illustrations. I think its great :)

  2. Thank you so much for your thoughts, I'm glad i'm making that connection as intended. As i add more frames I hope it will build a suspense and a pace that leads to the final frame nicely. Keep your eyes peeled and your curtains closed ;)
