I entered a competition for a Halloween clubnight last week, the idea was meant to be a poster originally and after discussion with the lovely Holly and Jackie of Papershakers it ended up being this. A live installation 'poster' at the actual night. It took about an hour per pumpkin to hollow out and carve out and most of them are free handed. As they are best fresh, I carved them all in one day and in all honesty I'm happy to see a good year go past before I go near another pumpkin.
A thank you is in order to the girls at Paper Shakers for such an opportunity and giving me so much freedom, for a great night and to the girl who I had a serious conversation with about purchasing my work who was dressed as a dodo.
There was opportunity to sell work at the night too with other artists. I bagged myself a few goodies which I will post when I've got the artists full names.
I had an illustration for this but binned it after carving the 'kins. Each letter i cut out looked amazing standing alone, so I photographed the pumpkin letters and created this as well.
If you would like a poster designed for any event and want something a bit less graphicky and more crafty like my work, just drop me an email at pistachio_3@hotmail.co.uk
