I probably watch more cartoons now than I did when I was a kid.
These are my three favourite cartoons, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Adventure Time and Regular Show. It's not because i'm an illustrator or because they're well drawn or anything artistic like that. It's purely due to the adult humour, timing and darkness slipped in.
If you're a Ren and Stimpy fan then you have to watch The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, it's so utterly dark and has similar frames of sketched insanity. The backgrounds are really beautiful too.
If you're a fan of general sly adult humour and can stomach overwhelming American-ness then I recommend the other two. If you disagree and simply don't get them, I honestly don't care.
