Summer Project fail

Summer means many things to me, cold cans of beer, laughing at people making daisy chains, paying extortionate amounts of money to sleep restlessly in a field and maybe see a few bands if it isn't pissing it down with rain.
Whilst summer maybe inspiring and full of new ideas, it doesn't strike me as a good time for noting down or expanding on ideas. Therefore my summer project from uni is few and far between....

In my defense, i have been collecting camera's, experimenting with fixing old film cameras and developing film, I sorted out business cards, started designing my website and am in stage 3 of setting up my business. However my tutor didn't write any of those in the brief.

The brief was News Of The World, collecting and responding to news stories from different medias in different ways. This is a bit of what I did, firstly in response to the London riots.

The following are a set of tongue in cheek flyers advertising the riots as if they were gigs. My thought was without BBM and facebook how would the rioters have organised themselves. I thought back to the 80's riots and started looking into the punk photomontage work used heavily in gig flyers.
They're not ace, but they're a start.

This was a response to the death of Amy Winehouse. Working in Camden Lock market, it's easy to overhear everyone's opinions when news like that spreads like wildfire through the stalls. This one has a 1940's reporter style to it. Mostly because my boyfriend bought L.A. Noire that week and was playing it constantly. Amazing graphics if you haven't seen any game play, very authentic, some of the best architectural detail I've seen in a game.

I promise to do some more work and post it.

I think that's a promise aimed more at myself than anything else.
