What I like most about this book is the simplicity of the writing. Stephen E Ambrose doesn't over complicate the stories, doesn't over glorify the heroics, the deaths or the battles. It's factual and informative yet captures the bravery and struggle of Easy Company through World War 2.
The first ever war book i've read and definitely not the last.
Currently watching the series, which so far seems to do the opposite of the book in the sense that the cinematography, script and atmosphere all intend to almost over play the characters and events. However, still ruddy amazing, I'll stick it through all of the million episodes and inevitably conclude that once again the book is better than the film adaptation. A rule so far that has only one exception; Fight Club.
