This exhibition blew my mind.
All the images were taken without a camera. Thats right, no camera's.
The process is chemigram or photogram, just using light, objects and then treating the paper chemically, worth checking out online as the basic idea is quite easy to recreate.
Here are my two favourite images from the exhibition by Floris Neususs, not Neurosis, thats a band.
So after the seeing this crazy stuff, I had a pint or two with the boys, ordered chips and wings and even after all of my favourite consumables I just couldn't get the idea out of my head. So of I went to all the art shops in the soho area asking many people where I could get hold of photographic paper and fixing solution. After forking out for that, I skipped home (actually I fell asleep on the bus home), and got going.
Crow knows.
Apologies for the shoddy images but I will scan them up at uni this week.
The subject matter ranges through all the dead stuff I have including a crow skull, butterflies and various flowers. My room isn't the greatest darkroom but I still love the images. Will do more soon, of a better standard, possibly trying to involve some typography.
All in all, an exciting day.
Tomorrow I'll take my handmade pinhole camera out to Victoria park and see what I get.
